ISOMETRIC PROJECTION

FUNCTIONAL MACHINE MODEL MAKING AND SURVIVAL POD

The final presentation, of both the models and weapon.

This is a weapon designed to be utilized for survival.

On the left is the Survival pod, designed for both the land and sea, with protection from both human terror and sea creature attacks ( the spikes will prevent the fishes from getting close to the pod).
On the right, is the functional model, which is a cargo transporter. It works with solar, wind and electrical energy. During the working process the bulb automatically lights up indication 'work in progress.
The fan, at the top acts as a windmill, and stores energy. The silver object at the top, acts as a solar power equipment, it also saves energy, which is then used during emergencies. The large object at the bottom, is  where the electrical power source. The circular object acts as a weight which is  automatically pulled down when weight is added to the cargo carrier area.

These are the pictures of the final outcome from different angles.

However, I was suggested to make some improvements.
Therefore, I added an elevation to the pod, along with a feature that would make it possible for the pod to float on water.

Final outcome

New ideas developed, I opted to have a pod which would be on land, rather then underground.

Things I collected to make a Functional Model

The initial Idea for creating a survival pod, for an island.

Underground pod

PRESENTATION DRAWING - RENDERING PRESENTATION- MARKER RENDERING

For the task, we were asked to present our previous drawings on an A3 paper and utilize rendering to create a presentable finish.

PRESENTATION DRAWING -RENDERING PERSPECTIVE- WATER COLOUR

After a tutorial on how to render using water colours, our task was to portray our skill on a perspective drawing.

3D DRAWING - ONE AND TWO POINT PERSPECTIVE

3D DRAWING - OBLIQUE PROJECTIONS

ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS - PLAN, ELEVATION AND SECTION

Ground Floor Plan

EXPRESSION IN SKETCHING - FILL IN THE SPACE

This task was designed to enable us understand space and  project an object from a single point/(perception)

EXPRESSION IN SKETCHING - SKETCH-NOTE

Spend your time to watch a movies (comedy version) and conclude the synopsis of the movies in the through visual notes. Use the 6 fundamentals to represent the story-line.

The 6 fundamentals include:
-Letters
-Frames
-Peeps
-Connectors
-Shadows
-Bullets

EXPRESSION IN SKETCHING - TINY DETAILS, LIVE DRAWING AND EXPLORING DETAILS

For this specific assignment, we were required to explore our sketching and rendering skills.

The options given to us from which we could select the element on which we would like to portray our rendering skills were:

Beetle
Shoes
Watch
Leaf

I opted to portray my rendering skills on a Leaf

EXPRESSION IN SKETCHING - TONAL VALUES

Tonal shading techniques

Stippling
Hatching
Crosshatching
Scribbling

Tonal Values Exercise:
Arrange on a table at least 6 common items such as: Pencils, paperclips, coins, keys, watch, scissors, pencil sharpener. These objects may overlap each other in your arrangement. Create an interesting composition for these objects; take care to record the proportions of each object and their size relative to one and another. Achieve depth with scale and overlap.

Here, our task was to draw basic components :
Chair
Table
Upholstered
 Seating
Storage

This task was based on a game of lucky draw, we were suppose to sketch different angles of the letter we would get by random selection. I had gotten the letter 'F', below are the Plan, 3D view and Elevation drawings.

Architectural Material Symbols

Below are the different types of symbols used for architectural purposes.
